Women’s branch

Members of the Women's Branch out on a walk in the woods.

Women’s Branch is open to all women in the City of Durham CLP.

We are here to ensure women members have a voice and can play an active role in all party activities.

We aim to welcome new women members, encouraging and supporting women to play a full and active role and building links with women in the community; campaigning, socializing and fundraising.

Where we can, we work jointly with Labour women in neighbouring constituencies and women’s groups across the North East.

Meetings

We meet on a bi-monthly basis with formal meetings and discussion groups and regular social activities including our popular wellbeing walks. We produce a newsletter twice a year about what’s going on, what we are planning, how to get involved and news items of social and cultural interest.

Meetings take place in Durham City in either Alington House or Waddington Street URC church. Wednesdays between 6pm and 8pm from April to September, and Saturdays between 10am and 12noon from October to March.
