Introducing Chris Ranson

I have lived in Durham most of my life and Belmont is where I went to school and made lifelong friends.

For ten years I have dedicated a considerable amount of time supporting communities as part of my job with the Charity, Sunderland Carers Centre.  Working with families, key workers and local authority services I’ve taken
projects from an idea through to development and delivery. Projects that have enabled young people to access services, isolated people to find support and the financially vulnerable to receive essential assistance.

I understand how to support a community and give a voice to all, including those who feel they’ve often been ignored. I’m passionate about ensuring all residents of Belmont, Carrville and Gilesgate have a say in our future. I know
improving what happens on a local level can have a profound effect on peoples happiness and well-being.
