The NHS is the Labour Party’s proudest achievement providing universal healthcare for all and free at the point of contact. To celebrate the NHS 70th Birthday Labour Party members and our MP Roberta Blackman-Woods held a super party in Durham.
Hundreds of members of the public signed our Birthday cards thanking the amazing NHS staff for their dedication and care.
The NHS is deliberately being underfunded by the Government and cuts to hospital services, GP’s, medication, certain treatments and community nursing are leaving people worried and anxious. It is appalling that life expectancy has fallen for the first time in 15 years and as health spending is diverted from the North to South, people in the poorest areas of the country can be dying up to 10 years earlier than the richest areas.
